The Southern reaches of India has natural beauty like nowhere else with serene backwaters, beaches, Ghats & hills. But this paradise is not merely a feast for the eyes but a sanctuary of exceptional biodiversity, most notably home to a remarkable population of over a thousand majestic tigers. The region’s fauna extends beyond the mighty cat, with many leopards, elephants, nilgai & some impressive endemic species. TRAVELOSEI’s South India Tiger Trail encompasses 6 national parks & sanctuaries across the states of Karnataka & Kerala. 1. Sheltering the second most number of tigers in the country is Karnataka’s Bandipur Tiger Reserve. Embark on a beautiful safari through the park’s dense jungles.
2. With over 140 tigers, Nagarhole Tiger Reserve is one of the top reserves in the state. Also part of the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve, the park is cut through by the Kabini River.
3. Located among the gorgeous Nilgiri Mountains at an elevation of 850 to 1250 meters is the Mudumalai Tiger Reserve, home to over 110 tigers. A safari here offers enchanting views of the hills beside its majestic tigers.
4. Our next safari is at Eravikulam, Kerala’s first national park, located in the breathtaking vistas of Kannan Devan Hills.
5. In the serene town of Thekkady is the Periyar National Park, a sprawling wildlife sanctuary with elusive tigers, and a myriad of other species to watch during your safari here.
After a touch-down at the Mysore Airport, a seamless transfer will take you to the comfort of your lavish accommodations. The remainder of the day is yours to unwind & ease jet lag.

The park’s vast grasslands are a thriving habitat for Bengal tigers, also sheltering large herds of elephants, with a population of over 1000. Expect common encounters with tigers, leopards, and the elusive Indian wild dog. After your safari & a refreshing lunch, our chauffeur will drive you back to the hotel to relax for the remainder of the day.
Early in the morning, we depart for your second safari at Nagarhole, an hour’s drive away from Mysore. Part of the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the park has dense forests and rivers flowing through. Nagarhole is home to the endangered wild dog and the Asian elephant besides over 140 tigers. After lunch, we move back to your hotel. If time allows, enjoy the sights of Mysore Palace & the city’s temples.
After a sumptuous breakfast, a two-hour drive will take you to the Mudumalai Tiger Reserve for yet another enthralling tiger safari. The rare white tiger has been occasionally sighted here. Find sights of the endemic Nilgiri Tahr here. Late afternoon, we will drive back to your hotel in Mysore for a relaxing overnight.

After a short drive to the Eravilkulam National Park in Kanan Devan Hills, we embark on a picturesque safari. Although the park isn’t particularly known to have tigers, the rest of the fauna puts on a fascinating show for your safari. Eravikulam is home to the world’s largest population of more than 700 Nilgai Tahr, an endemic species. Post safari, relish a traditional lunch before moving towards the famed tea gardens of Munnar.
